How to read this chart
Penetration power is compared against armor classes in the
penetration calculator: as a rule of thumb a round needs
roughly 10 × armor class + a few penetration to reliably defeat a full-durability
plate of that class. Armor damage % matters for sustained fights, high armor-damage rounds chew
through plates even when they bounce.

Frequently asked questions
What do the ammo stats mean?
Damage is the health damage dealt to an unarmored target. Penetration power decides whether the round defeats armor (higher is better, compare against the penetration calculator). Armor damage % is how fast the round destroys the armor it hits. Speed affects lead/drop at range.
Which ammo should I use?
It depends on who you expect: high-pen rounds (BP, BS, M995, M61) for armored players; high-damage rounds (HP, RIP) for unarmored. The ammo solver ranks rounds for a specific armor class.
Is this data current?
Data compiled 2026-10-08 from the community wiki ballistics table, cross-checked against known values. Tarkov patches change stats; we update with changelog entries. Exact in-game behavior also depends on hit location and armor zones.
Why do some calibers show fewer rounds?
We include the rounds in the wiki ballistics table at snapshot time. Some event/limited ammo types (and some legacy rounds no longer obtainable) are excluded rather than shown stale.
